Enough with jeans already!

I have to confess I live in jeans. I have a wardrobe full of beautiful dresses, skirts, suspenders, seamed stockings. flowers, and pretty shoes and all I ever wear are my damn jeans and my old Chuck Taylors. I blame it on a life of working in hospitality where dressing like a girlie girl just isn't practical. My other downfall is that I wear a lot of black, I guess you could say that I'm a bit of a recovering emo in a way. Anyway now that I'm getting a little bit older (and hopefully a little more mature) I would desperately like to start dressing a little bit more colourfully and find the courage to wear skirts and dresses more frequently. I've realised recently that there are a lot of options out there that can allow me to do that without losing my 'style' altogether. It was this picture of one of my favourite pin-up models Sabina Kelley (erm ok by favourite I really mean mildly obsessed) that really got me thinking about summer dresses...

And so then I started looking at other bright coloured dresses and began to fall in love...

I bit of colour makes such a difference doesn't it?! I really think that the way a person dresses everyday can really affect their mood, a bit of colour not only makes you feel more cheerful but also those around you. So you see I really have no excuse! I will put out a complete black and jeans ban this summer if I have to! Wish me luck...

  2. I would buy a pair of reproduction high waist jeans and cute colorful blouses to wear to work, if you are worried about practicality. that would be divine!

  3. That's a great idea. I admit I do wear a lot of blouses, although most of them tend to be black! The only colourful piece i often wear is a flower in my hair.

  6. These are gorgeous! I actually have a playsuit by Moxie Minx and I LOVE it – I will wear (and hopefully post?) it when it gets warm again.

Good luck, if you do decide to wear you dresses etc :) It definitely cheers me up to doll up.
