Christmas in 26 degrees

I know I wrote about Christmas last year and how different it is celebrating at the beginning of summer but this year feels even more intense!  Baking Christmas cookies and decorating the tree when it is 26 degrees outside and 79% humidity really does take the fun out of it a little bit!  We bake all the old traditional family cookies from Germany... well okay this isn't me, this is my sister again.  She is the baking queen in our family, I unfortunately missed out on inheriting any sort of baking talents!

I decided last year that instead of covering the tree with tinsel and fake snow, I was going to decorate it with flower and shells (some what more fitting here some how).  This year it ended up being a bit of a rush job so next year I have to plan something spectacular!  Notice the tropical touch?!

I would love to have a cold, white Christmas one year though.  It looks so cosy!  And I would love to be able to use some of the old family tree decorations again.

I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas.

  1. I can't imagine what it must feel like to spend Christmas in summer weather, I have actually never even been abroad during Christmas. Right now we're having -20'C and for Christmas Eve tomorrow they say it's gonna be -30'C. Perhaps a little too cold, but at least a white Christmas :)

  2. I miss hot Christmasses! I am used to the cold ones now, but I used to love being able to go for a swim on Christmas Day.
