On Wednesday night I ended up going to the Michael Pattison fashion show/ shop launch and was pleasantly surprised by the retro inspiration of his spring/ summer collection! Entitled 'Trix and Dandy', the whole collection is themed around old school mafia style gangsters with a sort of mix up of the 1920's - 1950's. The music was fantastic, the models looked great, and particularly the menswear was awesome! It's so nice to see some New Zealand designers daring to move away from the stereotypical kiwi bloke image and delve into something a little more dapper for the gentlemen. I'm sure a lot of ladies would agree! New Zealand fashion week is about to kick off so it will be interesting to see if anybody else had followed suite.
