The weekend that was...

Oh it has been a funny old weekend.  Despite spending half the week in bed with a cold, sore throat and almost no voice to speak of (excuse the pun) I got up bright and early to head out to the Cassette Supermarket.  Markets can be very unpredictable at the best of times but in winter they are almost impossible to judge.  Are people going to come flooding in because they want something they can do where they are out of the cold, wet weather?  Or do they take one look out of their window in the morning and decide that on a day like this they would rather snuggle down in bed all day and not leave the house at all?  Well I think it would be safe to say that on this icy cold Saturday almost everybody had opted for the second option... BED!  So the sales weren't great but it was still great to catch up with old faces and meet some new ones.  The nice thing about the Cassette markets is that they are situated in bar, so there is always great music playing and the beer and coffee flows freely! Please excuse the photo quality, I only had time to very quickly snap a few photos before my camera battery died (when oh when will I remember to charge it before going somewhere?!).

Anyway we have quite a few exciting events and markets coming up through out the second half of the year which I will tell you about as they come closer.  Alternatively you can keep an eye out on the MARKET page up by the menu.  Next weekend Dashfield Vintage will have a stall at the Travelling Vintage Sale held in Ponsonby.  This is one of my favourite vintage markets around town and is at a different venue around the city almost every time.  If you're looking for true vintage that doesn't cost an arm and a leg then I would definitely suggest popping by next Saturday.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. x
