Before you know it they are everywhere!

I actually never considered myself to be a 'shoe' person.  At 5'10 I don't tend to where heels as often as I would like, simply because I tower over everybody and miss out on a surprising amount of conversation because I can't hear people properly down there!  Also when you are this height your feet naturally need to be a bit bigger so that you don't tip over... so when you find a cute pair of shoes in the window (usually in a size 7) and then ask to try them in your size they suddenly don't look so cutesy any more!  Anyway so I basically resigned myself to the fact that beautiful shoes are there to be admired but not worn.  Which is why it came as quite a shock to me the other day when I was cleaning up the bedroom only to discover that I have too many pairs of shoes to even know what to do with!  So I am curious to know how you organise your shoes.  Matters aren't helped by the fact that my partner is a hopeless collector and hoarder, and therefore probably has twice as many shoes as I even do!

 * if some of the shoes look like they could do with a bit of a polish that's probably because they do!  It is SO muddy here at the moment that things don't stay clean for long.  I really need to dedicate a whole morning just to shoes polishing!

Some storage idea's that I have found and quite like are;

Keeping shoes in their original boxes but taking photos of them so you know what is what.

Creating a 'shoe wall' to have them all neatly lined up in.

Using old wooden crates and attaching them to the wall like shelving.  I LOVE this idea and am considering using it for the shop as well. I highly recommend checking this website out, they  have so many fantastic DIY home design ideas.
