A couple of years ago in some small town in the South Island, I came across this incredibly sweet deadstock 50s nightgown. Aside from the fact that it looks so pretty, it was the tag hanging off it that really got me...
The tag reads:
A. & J. Griffin, famous leadership of quality
Lingerie bring another fashion- 'FIRST'- designed especially for YOU by
Monique et Roberto.
- Europe's leading designer team
Isn't that cute?! I've held onto it for so long because I didn't want to let it go, but then again I didn't want to wear it either because then it wouldn't be 'new' any more! So silly I know. Now I've finally come to the point where I've decided to just sell it. I am also continuing my spring clean sale on Trade Me and have put up a whole lot of lacy, racy petticoats and cute retro nightgown and night jackets (click on the image to go to the item on sale)...
I can't even begin to tell you how great it feels to have a clear out and get rid of all these things. It's not the I don't love them (believe me I mourn over every piece of vintage I ever sell), it's just that got to a point where I had so much that it was completely over whelming!
P.S oh yeah I wanted to ask if anybody knows of a good place to buy vintage reproduction pyjamas??
