Week 34

Errm yes taking this photo shoot very seriously (I always get told off for goofing around)!

We're hurdling toward 35 weeks at a frightening pace!  This little one is growing and growing, and therefore so is my belly.  I get a bit of a shock sometimes when I see a photo of myself or catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror.  Certain things are starting to hit home now... you know like that fact that I'm going to be a MOTHER in about months time.  It absolutely blows my mind.  I have to pinch myself sometimes because I can't help but wonder, am I really old enough to be responsible for another little human being??  But then I remember that I'm already 30 years old and I've done a pretty good job at keeping myself in one piece up until now, so why not a baby!

On the whole I am really still feeling pretty great.  In fact there are certain times (although they are less frequent now) where I almost forget I am pregnant.  This is great in many ways but has lead to me over doing it a bit sometimes... like deciding I absolutely have to fix up the front gardens, a job which I have been putting off for about 2 years now.  That of course resulted in me limping around the house night after night because my back was so sore!  Silly really!

Today was a baby kind of day.  We went to get the car seat 'safety checked' this morning and were told that it's not considered safe at all.  Hmmm so now comes the decision, do we hire something for the first six months or shell out another ton of money and buy one that will last us from infancy until it's at least four years old.  Don' believe those people that tell you babies don't cost anything!  Then we went to the midwife and found out that this little on is lying posterior (facing outward not inward).  So from now on I'm going to be bouncing around on my swiss ball, crawling around on my hands and knees and trying to sleep on my left side as much as possible!  And of course whispering suggestions to to the kid about doing a little roll on its own.

I've got to say thought that on the whole we are beside ourselves with excitement!  Being pregnant is by far the most amazing thing I've ever experienced and I am incredibly grateful for all of it!  Can't wait to meet this little person.

  1. Looking fabulous! That rushing around fixing the garden bit sounds like 'nesting'. People talk about it, and it really does happen. I remember doing things like cleaning out linen cupboards, and the pantry - crazy stuff! :) x
